Little Fire Ants

- 1.5 mm long (1/16th of an inch)
- Color
- Light brown to golden brown with often-times a slightly darker abdomen

- Florida and California (primarily South America, Mexico and the Caribbean)

- Yes - Incredibly effective
- One ant can sting 3 or 4 times before being dislodged.
Each sting site turns either red or white depending on the victim's sensitivity.- The reddened sting sites typically swell to the size of a Silver Dollar.
- Swelling and redness can last up to 3 days in some people - being very painful at first and then itching intensely.
- A couple of dozen stings within a short period of time can leave the victim pale and shaky.

- The ends of the antennae are much thicker than the stems (aka scape and funicle)
- Queen
- Nests
- Don't seem to nest underground like other fire ants
- Typically nest under items such as bricks, wood and stones
- Nests are regularly clustered together and often seem connected
- How to Kill
- Use Maxforce Granular Bait
- Track down and bait every trail you can find
- Sprinkle bait around nesting sites - but not directly onto the nest
