- Mounds in soil and lawns
- Mounds will grow up to a foot and more in diameter
- Foraging
- Field ants rarely enter buildings but can be regularly found around them
- Identification
- Black Field Ants are often confused with Carpenter Ants - The primary difference in appearance is the Field Ant's thorax (back) is quite uneven where as a Carpenter Ant's thorax (back) is nicely rounded
- How to Kill
- Use Maxforce Granular Bait
- Track down and bait every trail you can find
- Sprinkle bait around nesting sites - but not directly onto the nest
- A broadcast bait treatment can also help if you have large lawn/field containing many mounds, but only broadcast in conjunction with baiting around every nest (you cannot use broadcast baiting instead of taking the time to address each mound)
